Do I need a Doctors referral to be seen by a physiotherapist?Physiotherpist's are first hand practioners, and are able to diagnose patients (after all assessment are completed). Therefore no doctors referral letter is required to be seen by a physiotherapist. However, for GEMS clients, a referral letter from a doctor is now required as of January 2018 (out-Hospital only).

Does my Medical Aid cover out of hospital physiotherapy?Well that depends on the medical aid, and also the plan option that the client is on.
